Trek Description

Tsum valley standing on the secluded Himalayan Region is an exclusive opportunity to experience the life in world's remotest valleys. It is infact a holy pilgrimage trekking, people here are Buddhists and their religion is the main conviction.
The recently opened Manaslu Tsum valley trekking route offers fantastic views of Ganesh Himal, Boudha Himal and Sringi HImal ranges. People living here are the descendents of Tibets and have their own type of culture, tradition, religion, language and arts. The uniqueness showered by this village might surprise you and their customs may just blow off your mind.
Tsum Valley, originated from Tibetan speech, "Tsombo", which means bright, is actually the justice to the village environment. Even by falling in the remote region, the valley has the true nature colors in it.
Trek Route
The initiation point for Tsum valley trek Nepal in Manaslu Region is Arughat. We drive from Kathmandu to Arughat and upon completion of Trekking of Tsum Valley; we drive back to Kathmandu from Arughat again. The Route Map has captured every trail we would be following throughout our Manaslu Tsum valley trek.

Our Trekking Group
The trekking group to Tsum valley Nepal depends on the number of persons. Normally, we take in 1-10 persons in a group. However, if you are in a bigger group of more than 10 persons, we can manage the Tsum Valley Trekking accordingly. The maximum number '10' is the outcome of generally organized group treks. But, we are good at organizing treks for any group size you require.
Besides the trekking group, we have our local staffs to assist you as well. Trekking does not just mean traveling around; it will be more rewarding if you can gain good bunch of information of the areas you travel. So, we provide you with guides for that and in order to assure easy travel experience, we have porters who would carry on your luggage. We will facilitate you with 1 porter for 2 persons, 1 porter carrying maximum of 20 kg weight.
Guides and Porters
For trekking group of 1 to 5 people, we provide – 1 Guide and Porter (2 trekkers: 1 porter).
For trekking group of more than 5 people, we provide – 1 Guide, 1 Assistant Guide and Porter (2 trekkers: 1 porter)
Accomodation and Meals
Our overnight stay would be on Tea Houses/lodges during Trekking of Tsum Valley. Twin sharing comfortable beds and common bathroom will be provided. The place is clean and hygienic. However, if you require a single supplement accommodation, it can also be made available on request at an additional cost of US$ 200. But still you need to be aware that single supplement accommodation may not be available at all the places during your Tsum valley trek Nepal.
Our Manaslu Tsum valley trek would let you experience typical Nepali food, special mountain foods and other cuisines including international cuisine like Indian, Tibetan, Italian, and Continental. You can always make your choices from the food menu available there. We will have breakfast and dinner at lodge/tea houses mostly whereas we will have the lunch on our way.
While in Kathmandu, your accommodation is at tourist standard hotels facilitated with Attached Bath, A/C, 24 hours running hot/cold shower, Internet service and others. The facilities provided here is of 2 to 3 star standard hotel.
We offer welcome dinner, farewell dinner and breakfasts during your stay in Kathmandu. Other meals as well as your other personal expenses will be from your own pocket during your stay in Kathmandu. Full board meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, and Tea/Coffee) are included during Trekking of Tsum Valley once you leave Kathmandu.
Transportation
The means of transportation are private cars/vans and public bus. Pick up and drop from airport to hotel, and hotel to airport will be done by the vehicles of Imperial Nepal Treks. Also, we will be driving from Kathmandu to Arughat and from Khudi to Kathmandu by Bus.
Tsum valley trek Nepal will start with a drive from Kathmandu to Arughat. From Arughat, we walk all the way to our destination. While returning, we take a bus from Arughat to Kathmandu.
Safety and Precaution
It is necessary that you take in good precaution during your travel to avoid any difficulties in your Trekking of Tsum Valley. As the Manaslu Tsum valley trek leads to higher altitude range, you need some trustworthy, experienced, qualified and well-equipped people around you. Your safety is assured by the local trek guide and other staffs.
Since these hikes take you on the remote Himalayan region, it is very essential that you are accompanied with the very experienced, qualified and well-equipped leader such that your trek runs safe and successful one. The guides of Imperial Nepal Treks are trained and licensed from Nepal Government, certified from TAAN and Nepal Mountaineering Association with experience over 8 years. Health Issues
Regarding health issues, we are well aware that you are likely to get Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Going up high at faster pace is too harmful and can be fatal as well because of less oxygen. Some general symptoms of AMS are

- Dizziness or light-headedness
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Loss of appetite
- Nausea or vomiting
- Rapid pulse (heart rate)
- Shortness of breath with exertion
Due to this, we need good time to adapt in the current environment and thus we have planned our itineraries in such a way that we get enough time for acclimatization to ensure your health safety.
A good planning for Tsum valley trek Nepal is a must to minimize the health risks with problems like AMS. And if you are a patient of heart, lungs or blood disease, it is very important that you consult with your doctors and familiarize yourself with the remedies for the diseases before Trekking of Tsum Valley.
On your date of arrival, Imperial Nepal Treks will be there to welcome you at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. We will pick you and shift you in a tourist standard hotel as per booking for an overnight accommodation.
Imperial Nepal Treks organizes a full day city tour around Kathmandu Valley. The aim behind is to let you have the know-how of the Kathmandu city, the city of monuments, temples and monasteries such as Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath, Changu Narayan, Budhhanilkantha and many others. We will provide you leisure time for rest and preparation for final departure that is scheduled for the next day.
From Kathmandu, we leave for Arughat, our first destination to Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek. We drive early morning to Arughat passing by the beautiful Nepalese countryside. After total of 8 to 9 hours drive on a paved road till Dhading Bensi and from Dhading Bensi to Arughat through rough roads. Arughat is a small yet major town in this region. We stay overnight at Arughat. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Having breakfast in the morning, we head for Soti Khola along the stone paved roads. Following Budhi Gandaki River, our Tsum Valley Trek leads to Arkhet Bazar and then to Kuerepani, a small village of Magar and Gurung people. Heading up from here, we reach Soti Khola passing by waterfalls ahead. We stay overnight at Soti Khola. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Visiting Soti Devi Temple early morning, we move for Machha Khola via a Gurung village, Lapubesi. Crossing the suspension bridge ahead from here and walking along the landslide possible areas, we reach Khanbesi and Machha Khola from there. From Machha Khola, you can look at the wonderful north-east views of Ganesh Himal. We spend the night at Machha Khola. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Crossing the suspension and wooden bridge at Machha Khola, we walk through Khorlabeshi where organic coffee garden exists. You can also get the glimpses of Ganesh Himal from here. We reach Tatopani, Hot Springs; we rest for a while here and make our way to Dobhan. Overnight at Dobhan. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Moving further, we reach Yaruphant where waterfalls exist. The pathway from here is rocky and stone paved, walking through these, we reach a place called Jagat. Jagat offers a view point of Sringi Mountain. Little ahead from Salleri, we reach Sirdibas and cross a suspension bridge over Budi Gandaki River further from here. Upon reaching Philim, we will be witnessing the Gurung village and wonderful glimpses of Sringi Mountain. If we have enough time, we shall visit Chhyoling Sandu Gumba. We stay overnight at Philim. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Heading from Philim, we ascend towards Ekle Bhatti. Following the trail different to that of Manaslu Circuit Trek, we reach Lokpa. Crossing around three suspension bridges and walking along the rocky falls, we arrive at Chumling, also known as lower Tsum. Overnight at Chumling. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Chumling, we ascend towards Dhampa Gompa and reach Kowo after that. Climbing uphill, we arrive at Chhokang Paro. From Chhokang Paro, you will be enjoying the views of Ganesh Himal. We will visit Galdang Gumba, a cave and micro hydropower. We spend the night in Chhokang Paro. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Climbing uphill from Chhokang Paro, we reach Ngayaku Leru and pass by the Lama settlements. Further from here, we visit Milarepa cave and Sarphu Stupa. You will be able to see the iron prayer flags here. Walking along the Tsum Valley Trek route, we reach Rachen Gompa, Lar, Pangdun and finally we arrive at Nile. On our way we can view the wind mills and water falls. A micro hydropower lies in Nile. We stay overnight at Nile. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Eyeing on the Mani walls, we take a steep ascent for Mu Gompa. We cross the bridge over Shiar River and reach Chho Syong. Dephu Doma and Nunnery Gompa lies here. Climbing ahead, we reach Mu Gompa. This is the highest point of our Tsum Valley Trek. We stay overnight at Mu Gompa. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
As it is a rest day, we visit the nearby sightseeing places in Mu Gompa. The largest monastery of this region is Mu Gompa which lies at the highest and the remote region of Tsum valley. Exploring the surroundings, we return back to Mu Gompa and spend the night there. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Mu Gompa, we trace our journey back to Rachen Gompa via Nile, Chule, Pangdun and Phurbe. Rachen Gumba is a nunnery on the village. We spend the night here. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Descending from Rachen Gompa, our trek leads to Ngakyu Leru first and then to Chhokang Paro. From here, we walk down a little to reach Domje and cross the suspension over Sarpu River. We stay at overnight at Domje. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
We follow a lower route to Philim which is the trail that leads to Ganesh Himal Base Camp. Walking through the pathways, we arrive at Ripchet. Further from here, we reach Gumlung. The trail passes through several ups and downs from Gumlung along the rocky falls. We reach at Sarti Gorge and cross the suspensions to enter in Lokpa. Heading down the trail, we arrive at Philim via Ekle Bhatti. Overnight at Philim. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Philim, we walk downhill to Tatopani taking in the final glimpses of our Tsum Valley Trek. If you wish, you can rest at Tatopani to ease away your tiredness of trek. We stay overnight at Tatopani. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
The trek is easy as we need to descend through the trails. Following the Budhi Gandaki River, we move down via Machha Khola, Khanibesi, and Lapubesi passing though the waterfalls and Sal forests. Ahead from here, we reach Soti Khola and spend the night here. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
As we come to the end of Tsum Valley Trek, we trek to the final stop from where we started our trek, i.e. Arughat. We move through Kuerepani and Arkhet Bazar to reach Arughat. We stay for overnight at Arughat. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Arughat, we catch a bus and drive to Kathmandu along the beautiful sceneries of countryside. Once we arrive at Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel you've stayed in before (unless changed). As this is the last day, we enjoy the farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with live music and rejoice the moments.
The representatives from Imperial Nepal Treks will drop you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and assist you in your final departure from Kathmandu. We bid our last goodbyes and you will head towards your destination.
