Our Trekking Group
The trekking group to Gosainkunda lake trek depends on the number of persons. Normally, we take in 1-10 persons in a group. However, if you are in a bigger group of more than 10 persons, we can manage the Langtang Gosainkunda trekking accordingly. The maximum number '10' is the outcome of generally organized group treks. But, we are good at organizing treks for any group size you require.
Besides the trekking group, we have our local staffs to assist you as well. Trekking does not just mean traveling around; it will be more rewarding if you can gain good bunch of information of the areas you travel. So, we provide you with guides for that and in order to assure easy travel experience, we have porters who would carry on your luggage. We will facilitate you with 1 porter for 2 persons, 1 porter carrying maximum of 20 kg weight.

Accomodation and Meals
Our overnight stay would be on Lodge/Guest Houses during Nepal langtang gosaikunda trek. Twin sharing comfortable beds and common bathroom will be provided. The place is clean and hygienic. However, if you require a single supplement accommodation, it can also be made available on request at an additional cost of US$ 200. But still you need to be aware that single supplement accommodation may not be available at all the places during your Langtang Gosainkunda trekking.
Our Gosainkunda lake trek in Langtang Region would let you experience typical Nepali food, special mountain foods and other cuisines including international cuisine like Indian, Tibetan, Italian, and Continental. You can always make your choices from the food menu available there. We will have breakfast and dinner at lodge/guest houses mostly whereas we will have the lunch on our way.
While in Kathmandu, your accommodation is at tourist standard hotels facilitated with Attached Bath, A/C, 24 hours running hot/cold shower, Internet service and others. The facilities provided here is of 2 to 3 star standard hotel.
We offer welcome dinner, farewell dinner and breakfasts during your stay in Kathmandu. Other meals as well as your other personal expenses will be from your own pocket during your stay in Kathmandu. Full board meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, and Tea/Coffee) are included during Langtang Gosainkunda trekking once you leave Kathmandu.
Transportation
The means of transportation are private cars/vans and public bus. Pick up and drop from airport to hotel, and hotel to airport will be done by the vehicles of Imperial Nepal Treks. Also, we will be driving from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi by Bus.
Our Langtang Gosainkunda trekking will start with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. From Syabrubesi, we walk all the way to our destination. While returning, we take a short drive from Sundarijal to Kathmandu.

Health Issues
Regarding health issues, we are well aware that you are likely to get Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Going up high at faster pace is too harmful and can be fatal as well because of less oxygen. Some general symptoms of AMS are

Imperial Nepal Treks organizes a full day city tour around Kathmandu Valley. The aim behind is to let you have the know-how of the Kathmandu city, the city of monuments, temples and monasteries such as Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath, Changu Narayan, Budhhanilkantha and many others. We will provide you leisure time for rest and preparation for final departure that is scheduled for the next day.
On this day, we offer you a welcome dinner at a typical Nepali Restaurant where you will taste different varieties of Nepali food. Your overnight accommodation remains unchanged.
Taking morning breakfast, we drive for Syabrubesi towards the north-western hills. Our pathway to Syabrubesi is filled with the luring views of Ganesh Himal and green hills along the riverside of Trishuli River. We stop for lunch at Dhunche from where descend for Syabrubesi. We stay overnight at Syabrubesi. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Syabrubesi, we move for Lama Hotel. Ascending through the heights, we pass by Tibetan camp, Thulo Syabru, and Bamboo along with Hot Springs. Moving further, we reach Rimche and little ahead from here Lama Hotel exists. Lama hotel lies on the bank of Langtang River, the hotel is luring as it is surrounded by lush forests and mountains. We stay overnight at Lama Hotel. Meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Ascending from Lama Hotel, we start our trek for Langtang village via Gumnachowk, Ghotadabela and Chyamki. We also pass by an Army Post at Ghotadabela, water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, sacred mounds of rocks that has carved inscriptions. The glimpses of Lantang Lirung are marvelous. We will also take a short visit to monastery on the way. We stay overnight at Langtang. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
With the largest Mani stone walls in Nepal accompanying us, we head towards Kyanjin Gumba. We find a cheese factory on our way and visit it. Ascending a bit, we reach Kyanjin Gumba. Kyanjin Gumba appears to be a paradise because of the impeccable mountain views of Yala, Kyanjin RI, Tserko Peak, Tsergo Ri and many others. The Langtang Liring glacier, icefalls, birds and yaks add more charm in our Langtang Gosainkunda lake trek. We stay overnight at Kyanjin Gumba. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
As Kyanjin Gumba is wonderland, we stay one more day to explore the surroundings. We start early morning for Tsergo Ri (Chirko Ri) in order to catch the stunning early sunrise glimpses over the white mountains via the Tamang settlements. You will also be able to witness the amazing sun set in the evening. Also, you will be able to capture 360 degree panoramic views of high mountains covered by clouds as their blankets. We stay overnight at Kyanjin Gumba. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Kyanjin Gumba, we retrace our journey back to Lama Hotel. Detaining the stunning mountain views, we arrive at Lama Hotel and stay overnight here. Meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Lama Hotel, we move for Thulo Syabru village. We follow the same route we used and descend via the trail with charming greeneries and steep downhill route. Then we reach Bamboo, futher from here, we climb uphill for Thulo Syabru where dense settlement of Tamang ethnic group exists. We stay overnight at Thulo Syabru. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Moving for Laurebina, we ascend through the routes via rhododendron forests. We walk over the pastures at Foprang Hill and reach Chandanbari where Shin Gompa exists. We also pass by a sanctuary for the red panda. Climbing further, we reach Laurebina. Laurebina offers the spectacular beauty of Annapurna ranges, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other peaks. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Laurebina, we ascend towards Gosainkunda following the Langtang Gosainkunda Trekking route. We pass by roofless stone huts on our way. As we reach Gosainkunda, you will be enchanted with the view of the lakes here. The place also comprises of many other holy lakes like Saraswati Kund, Bhairav Kund, Dudh Kund, Chandra Kund, Kyumachho Kund, Ragat Kund and many others. Gosainkunda is the largest among all and carries religious belief as well.
The Gosainkunda Lake has a large black rock in the middle and is praised as the head of Lord Shiva. Legend says that Lord Shiva created this high altitude Gosainkunda lake when he probed his trident in a glacier to quench the thirst after consuming the poison collected when the ocean was churned. Because this poison was held in his throat, the throat of Lord Shiva is blue. You can see the white rocks in the water which are believed to be the vestige of an ancient Shiva shine.
Moreover, a fair also takes place here on the day of Janai Purnima. Also, the view of Surya Mountain appears fantastic from here. Going through all the history of the legend, we spend our night here. Our trek today leads us to another big height i.e. Laurebina Pass. Walking along the rocky trails with cairns, we move ahead towards the pass. On our way, we pass, Ganesh Kund, Surya Kund, and Ama Kund, we reach Laurebina pass. Capturing some of the finest views from here of Surya Peak and Chhyarkung Chuli, we forward towards Ghopte.
From Laurebina pass, we descend through the trail via Phedi along Tinchuli hill. Passing by Dhupi Chaur, we arrive at Ghopte. Ghopte consists of caves and prayer flags. We stay here for overnight. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
Passing by the Sali Hill, we move for Kutumsang. We take a small ascent to cross Thadepati pass standing at an elevation of 3690m. After crossing the pass, the trail goes now easy as we drop the height and descend through the route. We reach Mangengoth and walk downhill from here via Kyuola Bhanjhyang Pangbo Danda and Yuldu Bhanjhyang. You will also be crossing the water falls in this route and finally reach Kutumsang along rhododendron forests. Here, the office of the National Park exists. We stay overnight at Kutumsang. Following the Helambu trekking route, we descend towards Chisapani. The trail is exciting as we pass by many natural gifts like Shree Ganesh Gosainkunda Lake, beautiful Tamang villages, Gul Bhanjhyang along with tea shops. Walking through the stony paths, we cross two beautiful hills, Thankune Bhanjhyang and Pati Bhanjhyang. Ahead from here, we find Brahmin and Chettri villages. Moving further, we arrive at Chisapani, an awesome place to observe mountains like Gaurishankar and Ganesh Himal. We stay overnight at Chisapani. Your accommodation would be in a lodge/teahouse where meals are provided on full board basis (breakfast, tea/coffee, lunch and dinner).
From Chisapani via Borlang Bhanjhyang, the trail descends along Mulkharka. Further, you will find an army barracks here as well. A little ahead, we arrive at Sundarijal. It is a beautiful place with greeneries and peaceful environment. Taking rest for a while, we drive back to Kathmandu. Once we arrive at Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel you've stayed in before (unless changed). As this is the last day, we enjoy the farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant with live music and rejoice the moments. Your overnight accommodation remains unchanged.
The representatives from Imperial Nepal Treks will drop you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and assist you in your final departure from Kathmandu. We bid our last goodbyes and you will head towards your destination.

What type of shape do I need to be in, is this trip for me?
- To prepare for a strenuous trek, you should begin training at least two to three months before your departure. As a guideline, an hour of aerobic exercise three to four times per week would be considered a minimum requirement. The best preparation is bushwalking involving relatively steep ascents and descents. If you can manage a couple of valley floor to ridgeline ascents per comfortable and able to enjoy the trek to the fullest. They are physically strong, sharp-witted and have an incredibly positive attitude towards a life that we would consider extremely tough. There is something about a trek in the Himalaya that draws you back time and time again. For keen walkers, it is a paradise and even avowed non-walkers find that one foot just seems to follow the other, drawn by the appeal of what lies beyond.
Will somebody come to pick me up at the airport upon my arrival?
- Yes, our staff will pick you up from the airport to your hotel room for you to rest.
What sort of accommodation can I expect in Kathmandu and trekking?
- In Kathmandu, You will be staying at a 3-star rated hotel and in Teahouse/Lodges in the mountains.
Is it possible to reserve a trip now and pay deposit later or do I have to pay the deposit at booking/reservation?
- It depend on you. And yes, it is possible for you to pay the amount after you book the trip. But you'll have to send all the paper details and 20% of the total amount before one month of your trip. And pay the remaining sum after you get here.
Is there a possibility of getting separate rooms for the Kathmandu portion of the trip? If so how much extra will this cost?
- Yes, you can get yourself a private room in Kathmandu but it will cost you around $40 Per night.
Is this a guaranteed departure even if I am alone stating in the requested trip?

When I pay the remaining of the money on arrival in Kathmandu, how do you accept the money? US cash or credit card?
- The remaining balance can paid upon your arrival in Kathmandu. We accept Visa card, MasterCard, and cash.
What sort of food can I expect in trekking?
- Most teahouses (lodges) in Langtang trails cook a delicious range of mostly vegetarian food. Pasta, noodles, potatoes, eggs, Daal Bhat(rice and lentils), bread, soup, fresh vegetables (variety depends on the season) and even some desserts like apple pies, pancakes, and some interesting attempts at custard. You will find a lot of garlic on the menu because it assists with acclimatization – you should eat some every day. In many larger villages, you may find some meat items on the menu.
Is the food in mountain prepared to international standard concerning safety?
- Yes, the food is very safe during the trek and we recommend you to eat the vegetarian and local food. Please follow the suggestion of our guide to have a safe and vigorous trek.
Is water provided and is there still water available at higher altitudes? Is it filtered/boiled? Easily accessible?
- Bottled water is easily available at the lodges and tea houses in the mountains. You can buy bottled water at the cost of $2 at lower elevations to $4 to higher elevation per liter. You can also drink the standard tap or spring water if you happen to bring a purifying aid with you.
What mode of transportation do you use?
- We use all possbile sort of transport in Kathmandu be it Car/ Van/Bus with A/C and dzomo (dzo), yak, donkey etc in the mountains.
What is the best season for this trekking?
- February, March, April, May,/ October, November, December is the best time to go on the trek to Langtang region.
What is the weather and temperature like in trekking?
Spring - March / April / May / June
- During springtime, the average temperature is 17 degrees C with a maximum of 25 degrees C during sunny days and a minimum of -15 degrees C in the morning and at night for areas above 4000 meters.
July / August Through Mid-September is Monsoon Season
- The maximum temperature during the monsoon season averages 25 degrees C during sunny days with a minimum -15 degrees C in the morning and night at areas above 4000 meters. The average temperature tends to hover around a comfortable 18 degrees C.
Autumn - End of September / October / November
- The average temperature during the fall is 15 degrees C with a maximum temp of 20 degrees C during sunny days and a minimum of -10 degrees C in the morning and at night, for areas above 4000 meters altitude.
I m a Vegetarian, is that going to be a problematic issue ?
- It is not going to be a problem in any ways since most of the lodges and Teahouses in the mountains provide vegeteraian food. And We also recommend our guests to mostly eat vegeterian food on the trip to avoid food realted problems and eating non vegeterian food in higher altitudes is not considerd safe for health.
Do your guides have legitemate trekking guide certificates? Have they received any first aid training at issues in high altitude?
- Yes, all of our guides have received a 45-day training from the Hotel Management and Tourism Center in Nepal. The guides have also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project) and NMA.
What safety measures are in place? What safety equipment do your guides carry with them on the trek to deal with sickness/accidents?
- Our guides are well trained for the high altitude problems and first aid. They always carry the first aid kit bag during the trek. However, we still recommend you to bring your own first aid kit as well. All our guides carry the local mobile phones and SAT phones for the emergency.
Do you know how many miles the trek is?
- The total distance of the entire trek is about 75 miles.
Do we book our international flights to and from Nepal?
- Yes, you need to book your own International flights.
Can I charge my digital camera or other equipments on my trip?
- These facilities will be available in most of the places in your hotel reception by paying some service charges or freely depending on the places.
Is there any communication while we are on trekking?
- There are telephones in some villages along the trekking routes from which you can make international calls. All our guides are equipped with the local mobile phone. You may wish to pass the number of our guide to your family for the callback or you can make a call from the guide’s mobile and pay him directly for the international call too.
Can I use credit cards in the places I visit in trekking?
- You can make use of your credit card while in Kathmandu but
How much additional money do I need per day?
- It depends on your spending habits. Generally, in Kathmandu, you can allocate USD 10 to USD 15 for lunch and dinner per day. USD 15 to USD 18 per person a day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolates, pay for a hot shower and a few drinks during the trekking.
Do I need to tip my guide and porters? How much would that be?
- This is a difficult thing to gauge. We recommend you to spend minimum 10% of your total trip cost for tipping entire local staffs, the ratio of tipping guide and porter will be given to you at the pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu before starting the trek.
What opportunities will I have for a shower along the trek?
- Our guides will arrange guesthouses with hot shower. And in rest of the places, hotel water will be provided for the shower; it would cost you extra $3-4 per shower.
Is Imperial Nepal staff insured?
- Our company has insurance of all our trekking staff members, including guides, cooks, Sherpas, and porters.
Can I add extra days to my trekking trip?
- Along with your trek, we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation, and food.
Do you use yaks/porters on the trek or do we carry all of our own gear?
- While on the trek, our porters will take care of your luggage. All you need to carry is your small day bag for your personal belongings like camera, water bottle, suncream etc... only.
Will there be a place to store items/clothing not required for the trek?
- The hotel in Kathmandu does provide the free storage services. So you can leave all your items that are not required for the trekking at your hotel.
Can I obtain the visa for Nepal upon on arrival at the airport?
- Yes, you can obtain the visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 30 days can be brought by paying $40 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 90 days can be brought by paying $100. Please be sure to bring 2 copies of your passport size photos for it is required for your Visa.
